Emurutoto Women Group Craft Center was established in Kenya by a group of local women in 2006. There are currently 32 women involved in the ownership and running of the center, who make and sell beads, hand crafts, and other African souvenirs. The crafters currently operate from an old building which has no electricity, toilets or water available, and is not fenced. The women who own and run the craft market approached Africa Foundation and &Beyond for assistance to make structural improvements at the craft center, with the intention of improving the craft center's roadside appeal. Funding has been secured through Africa Foundation UK to install water tanks and gutters. Funding is currently needed to upgrade the existing building and to establish guest and crafter ablution facilities.
